Manchester United to decide on Michael Carrick’s future

Manchester United leadership has reportedly moved to secure Michael Carrick as the club’s permanent manager following a transformative tenure at Old Trafford. High-level executives, including CEO Omar Berrada and Sporting Director Jason Wilcox, are set to formally recommend the former midfielder to Sir Jim Ratcliffe.

Since stepping in as caretaker in January 2026, Carrick has silenced skeptics by steering United from seventh to third in the Premier League, securing a crucial return to Champions League contention.
