Victor Boniface injury update after surgery

Super Eagles forward, Victor Boniface has provided an encouraging update on his recovery following knee surgery.

On Tuesday, February 17, 2026, the 25-year-old shared footage of his first training session back with Werder Bremen, sparking a wave of support from fans across Nigeria. The injury, which hampered his 2025-26 loan spell, eventually required surgical intervention in Innsbruck last January.

When will Victor Boniface return to playing football?

While he has now resumed light training under the supervision of Bayer Leverkusen’s medical team, an official return date to competitive action has not yet been set. However, his steady progress suggests he could be back in top form in time to bolster the Super Eagles’ squad for the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations.
