Italian powerhouse, AC Milan has officially named Ruben Amorim as their new head coach following a frustrating 2025-26 season. The 41-year-old Portuguese tactician takes over from Massimiliano Allegri, committing to a contract that runs until 2028 with an optional extension. The club announced the appointment on Tuesday via their official X account.
Amorim moves to Serie A looking to rebuild after a challenging stint at Manchester United that ended in his dismissal earlier this season. Despite that setback, Ruben Amorim stock remains high across Europe due to his trophy-laden tenure at Sporting CP, where his domestic success originally caught Old Trafford’s attention.
Milan’s hierarchy is confident that Amorim’s progressive, high-intensity philosophy will rejuvenate the squad. After missing out on Champions League qualification for two consecutive years, the Rossoneri are betting on the former Sporting manager to guide them back to elite status.
