Chelsea signs 17yr old Yisa Alao from Sheffield

Chelsea FC has officially announced the signing of 17-year-old defender Yisa Alao from Sheffield Wednesday.

The highly-rated teenager has committed to a two-year deal that keeps him at Stamford Bridge until 2028, aligning with the club’s ongoing strategy of recruiting the top young talent in English football.

The move follows Alao’s standout performances at the academy level, where his composure, speed, and tactical awareness drew significant attention. He will initially join the Chelsea academy at Cobham to adapt to the new environment.

Chelsea FC’s proven development pathway provides an ideal platform for Yisa Alao to transition toward senior football, while Sheffield Wednesday can take credit for nurturing a prospect now ready for the elite level. For the Blues, this signing adds vital depth to their future defensive ranks.
