How to Check Your 2025 NECO Result (GCE)

The National Examinations Council (NECO) has officially released result, marking a successful, albeit slightly more disciplined, session for the 2025 SSCE External cycle.

Here is a quick summary of the key performance statistics and the steps to access your results.

2025 NECO SSCE External: Key Highlights

The results, released 52 days after the final written paper, show a strong performance across core subjects:

  • Overall Pass Rate: 71.63% (68,166 candidates) obtained five credits and above, including English and Mathematics.
  • English Language: 78.32% of candidates achieved a credit or above.
  • Mathematics: An impressive 91.35% achieved a credit or above.
  • General Performance: 86.26% of candidates (82,082) secured five credits and above regardless of English and Mathematics.

Malpractice and Sanctions

While the pass rates were high, there was a 31.7% increase in examination malpractice compared to 2024.

  • 9,016 candidates were booked for offences.
  • 5 supervisors were blacklisted for aiding malpractice (FCT, Kano, Adamawa, and Ondo).
  • 4 centres were derecognized for “whole-centre” malpractice (Niger, Yobe, and Kano).

How to Check Your 2025 NECO Result

If you are one of the 95,160 candidates who sat for the exam, follow these steps to see your performance:

  1. Visit the Portal: Go to the official NECO Result Website.
  2. Select Year: Choose 2025 from the dropdown menu.
  3. Select Exam Type: Choose SSCE EXTERNAL (NOV/DEC).
  4. Enter Details: Input your Token Number and your Registration Number.
  5. View Result: Click the Check Result button to display your grades.
